Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences is a breeding ground for the skilled professionals, who are the dire need of Pakistan in general and Balochistan in particular, for utilizing the agricultural resources, conserving the water resources and exploiting the marine assets. The University has highly qualified scientists, eminent economists and enlightened literary figures. The University is not just pouring the availing knowledge into the minds of students at B.S level but also equipping the students with the art of the making of knowledge itself at M.Phil and PhD level.
I have strong conviction that education is a great panacea for human sufferings. We use education in order to encounter the present challenges and for translating our vision of progress into reality. It gives me immense pleasure that my team is leaving no stone unturned in the performance of this noble task of educating the students for their professional careers and their character building.
The research activities in the university are arresting the attention of the students all over the country and quenching their thirst of knowledge. Marine Sciences would seem alien to most of ears in Pakistan but our faculty of Marine Sciences is venturing in to it. The study of Marine Sciences has increased more than ever due to increase of Exclusive Economic Zone of Pakistan from 200 nautical miles to 350 nautical miles. The study of Water Resources Management is playing a vital role to decrease current and upcoming water & energy crisis in the country and also paving a way for development of Agricultural resources. Our Faculties of Agriculture, Veterinary & Animal Sciences and Water Resources Management are creating a beautiful triangle for economic development.
The social and economic problems which are unhinging our society can be addressed only by educating our society and generating the resources for economic activity and at the same time utilizing the available resources in efficient and effective way. Department of Economics and Business Management are creating human resource for upcoming needs in these areas.
No one can over emphasize the importance of Computer Science and English Language in the present era. It is widely believed that both open a gate way to the world of knowledge. Our Department of English, Education and Computer Science encapsulate natural sciences to provide a better environment for development of sciences as vibrant factor in economics of the province and country.
My message to students is that they should pour their soul and body in study and equip themselves with the latest techniques and trends in their fields. They are the ambassadors of the university; they should earn a good name for their family and their university by working for the weal and welfare of the society.
