Department of Poultry Science

The poultry sector is growing now a days rapidly in Pakistan and specifically in Balochistan. Poultry sector lacking skilled poultry professionals to cope up the diseases and management problems. The private sectors and stakeholders looking towards the institutions and specially in Balochistan which is 44% of Pakistan had dire need of institution offers specialization in Poultry Science. The Department of Poultry Science under the umbrella of Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Science was approved and established in 2020 at Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences.

The Department of Poultry Science imparts quality education andestablished to provide the highest level of skills to the students of the most impoverished region of Pakistan.The diversified and in-depth professional experienced Faculty in the Department of Poultry Science has enabled the students to be a potential counterpart for the execution of research and field activities. The Department of Poultry Science provides the exposure to a wide spectrum of scientific developments and enable the nascent students to get an insider view of the key processes within the constantly evolving scientific era of poultry industry. The academic qualifications and experience of our diversified Faculty has fortified the students with depth of knowledge to impart with vocational skills to uplift the conventional poultry farmers to modern poultry farming.

The mission of the Department of Poultry Science is to discover, translate, and implement knowledge in poultry and avian science to enhance the productivity and well-being of animals that contribute to human nutrition and health.

The Department of Poultry Science will continue to be a nationally recognized center for teaching, research, and extension/outreach in poultry and avian science.
