Department of Animal Products and Technology

The department of “Animal Products Technology” is the part of Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. Mr. Muhammad Asif was the first chairman of the Department of Animal Products Technology. The department established a well-equipped milk and meat processing Laboratory, which offers basic facility for research and processing of animal food such as Dairy / Meat. The prime focus of research is quality and safety of milk, meat and their products. The resulting outcomes of the research are applied to educate students by adding results in their syllabus, aware industry through scientific literature and to aware common people through organizing seminars. In addition to that the trainees may get start their own dairy business to improve the livelihood of their families which adds in poverty alleviation. The department offers various courses at undergraduate levels to meeting the requirement of Higher Education Commission and Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council.

The mission of the Department of Animal Products Technology is to educate and develop students with life skills and knowledge and to engage and serve the public and the people who produce animals and animal products.

We will achieve our mission through discovery, development, and dissemination of knowledge related to basic animal derived food and animal products, in order to promote economically viable, socially acceptable, and environmentally sustainable systems.We will enhance human well-being through nutritious, desirable, and safe animal-derived products.

Department of Animal Products Technology is a primary resource for animal food science knowledge, research, innovation, and talent in the Balochistan and beyond. The department exist to provide production-based education and research for developing trained personnel with thorough knowledge and skills regarding production and processing of animal food.
