DEAN'S MESSAGE

Welcome to the faculty of Engineering Sciences and Technology (ES&T) at the Lasbela University of Agriculture Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS), Uthal, Balochistan Pakistan. The faculty of ES&T is one of the prominent faculties of the LUAWMS established in the year 2007 by the name of Faculty of Water Resource Management (WRM). However, in 2018 the name of the faculty of WRM was changed to Faculty of Engineering Sciences and Technology (ES&T) to broaden the scope of the faculty.

The Faculty of ES&T understands its role and responsibilities in the society. The faculty is committed to play a vital role in the fields of engineering, water resources management and emerging technologies. The faculty is involved in cutting-edge research and provision of quality knowledge and skills to the students. Moreover, the faculty is well equipped to train the young graduates to be capable of obtaining challenging positions in the local, national as well as in the international markets.

Engineering sciences and technology professions play a vital role in the human civilization and its development. Among the large number of disciplines in engineering sciences and technology, the faculty offers different programs in civil engineering, water resources engineering, water resources management, and computer sciences.

The degree programs offered at the faculty provide flexibility, broad subject coverage, high quality delivery and excellent job opportunities to the students on their graduation. Multi-disciplinary courses provide the students with comprehensive and diverse understanding of their field of study. The wide range of innovative modules not only provide the students with essential technical expertise in their respective fields of studies but also allows them a sound practical application of the skills learnt. Regular updates of the curriculum, continuous dialogue with industry experts as well as regular attendance of internationally recognized conferences by the faculty members ensure demanding and up to date provision of knowledge and skills. Furthermore, the faculty is home to a number of state-of-the-art labs in civil engineering, water resources engineering and water resources management, and computer science. As the dean of the faculty, I am pleased to assure the concerned stakeholders a quality service and development in the fields of civil engineering, water resources engineering, water resources management and computer sciences during my tenure

INTRODUCTION

The Faculty of Engineering Sciences and Technology at Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water, and Marine Sciences is dedicated to advancing the field of engineering sciences. Our faculty offers a comprehensive education in three key areas: Civil Engineering, Computer Sciences and Water Resources Management.

We are proud to announce that our BS in Civil Engineering program has received accreditation from the Pakistan Engineering Council following a successful zero visit. This recognition is a testament to the high quality of our faculty, our rigorous curriculum, and our commitment to preparing students for successful careers in the field of engineering. Our state-of-the-art Civil Engineering labs are equipped with the latest technologies and provide students with hands-on experience in areas such as structural analysis, hydraulic engineering, and environmental engineering.

Our BS in Computer Sciences program provides students with a strong foundation in computer science, including programming, algorithms, data structures, and computer systems. Our curriculum is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in areas such as software engineering, database management, and computer networks, and prepares students for careers in a rapidly evolving field.

We also offer a Master's program in Integrated Water Resources Management, which provides students with a deep understanding of the complex issues surrounding water resources management. Our program is designed to produce well-rounded professionals who are equipped to tackle the challenges of managing our water resources in a sustainable and responsible manner.

The faculty of Engineering Sciences and Technology aims to become a prominent and leading center of knowledge, skills, innovation, creativity, research, and entrepreneurship in the fields of engineering, sciences, and technology; and aims to be integrated with the society at local, national and as well as global level to make this world a better place.
