Faculty from Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS) have participated in a four-day training programme on "Applications of satellite Remote Sensing" that was held at Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) in Quetta and sponsored by the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The FAO Chief Technical Advisor guarantees that training programmes will be organised at LUAWMS in addition to seminars in the future. The revival of Balochistan's water resources and the creation of new opportunities in the fisheries sector are other topics covered by the faculty. These topics are important to the livelihood of the fishing community along the Balochistan coast.
