Lasbela University has taken a major step towards sustainability and cost reduction by initiating a one Mega Watt solarization project on its campus. The project aims to generate renewable energy, thereby reducing the reliance on traditional electricity sources and significantly cutting down on the electricity bills of the university.
It includes the installation of solar panels, inverters, and transformers, among other equipment. The generated electricity will be utilized to power the university's buildings, facilities, and equipment. The electricity bills, which have been a significant expense for the university, will be reduced drastically once the project is completed. The cost savings can then be diverted towards other important areas, such as academic and research activities, infrastructure development, and student services
